This is my Season.

"I know that there is nothing better for [me] than to rejoice and to do good in [my] lifetime; moreover that every man who eats and drinks sees good in all his labor-- it is the gift of God."

Ecclesiastes 3:12-13

A Slippery Slope with Vaseline

I got off the phone with my sister- in- law aound 5:15ish after realizing my children were hitting "the dinner wall". (I had put off making dinner knowing my husband was coming home a little late.) My baby hit the wall literally and so I put him in the chair with cheerios to help pacify him till I could spoon feed him. My boys tried to help him eat by shoving cheerios into his mouth faster than he could swallow. In no time he is choking and I am running to help leaving the hot oil to start smoking up the entire kitchen. As he is gagging, and I am giving the boys the evil eye for doing this, he throws up ALL over. Time to stop dinner, that hasn't really started, and turn off the stove, turn on the fan, and put the baby in the bath. I can't continue on with dinner until after I feed him.
Dinner is on the go again. I hear one of the boys laugh and say "Mom look at her". That is never good! My daughter is sitting on the floor with a bottle of vaseline.
You guess what she is doing!!
Once again dinner is on hold while I clean her up, tell her that is not how we use vaseline, and comfort her from the talk.
Dinner is on the table at 7:00pm.
Hind sight says put a movie on while making dinner. Do you think they are ready to watch Roots?

Roots? Somebody is in need of a REALLY long break from the kids!!! Please wear a camera around your neck & get pics when they do these silly things. Of course, after picking up Molly the camera would have slipped out of your hand & landed who knows where? Good decision to let this one go by!
