This is my Season.

"I know that there is nothing better for [me] than to rejoice and to do good in [my] lifetime; moreover that every man who eats and drinks sees good in all his labor-- it is the gift of God."

Ecclesiastes 3:12-13

Award of the day!

I earned an award today! An award every mom gets but never displays or talks about. I've earned several in my days of mommy-hood but today I earned three!
"What award?" you ask.
The "Grace Award". Some have called it the "Worst Mommy of the Day Award" but I call it "Grace". Only by God's grace are my children safe, alive, and ignorant of my actions.

Award #1 of the day: I went outside to do laundry and begged my children to come back inside with me. I finally gave up and walked in without them. My son followed me in and slammed the door shut. "Thanks", I said as I hear my daughter cry outside the door a few seconds later. (Sad to say this is not the first time she has been outside alone for a period of time)

Award #2 of the day: I was folding laundry on the floor (mistake #1) when my son came at me. He knocked down the piles of little clothes I had just folded. I huffed about and told him to be more careful. He turned to me and said "Sorry, mom, I was coming to give you a kiss."

Award #3 of the day: I had to take my infant to the Dr. so my neighbor's daughter came over to watch the other 3 kids. I returned to find them at her house next door. I laid my sleepy infant in his crib so I could go and get the other kids. I ended up talking a bit and my neighbor's daughter ran back to my house to get her shoes. She returns with shoes on and a crying infant in her arms! He apparently wasn't ready to sleep.

Praise God for grace!

Don't be too hard on yourself! Bigger grace days are coming - especially if you homeschool!
