My 5 year old SON was getting dressed for Bible Study last night. I went in to check on him and he had on 3 shirts and was putting on a fourth. I asked what he was doing.
"I'm putting on my cool shirt."
"Why do you need to wear 3 of them?"
"Because the big boys will think I'm sooo cool."
Oh my! Are we starting this already. I was thinking I would deal with it from my daughter when she was a teenager!!
"Honey the boys will like you because of what you say and do. Not what you wear."
"OK"
Out he walks with his cool tank top on and a pair of his 15 month old brother's shorts on.
"Umm, sweetheart, we can still consider what we wear to be pleasing to the eyes too. Those shorts are a bit small on you." (Picture shiny blue bike shorts!) "Let me help you."
This is my Season.
"I know that there is nothing better for [me] than to rejoice and to do good in [my] lifetime; moreover that every man who eats and drinks sees good in all his labor-- it is the gift of God."

LOL, love the mental picture! Interesting that by the ripe 'ol age of 5 we are already concerned about what others think of us...I love what you told him, & what really matters. But I have to admit, can't wait until you have a similar encounter with Miss Molly!
Hee hee...what a cutie! I think all children somewhat care about what they wear...even at a very young age. I would have given anything to seen those small shorts on him though.
