This is my Season.

"I know that there is nothing better for [me] than to rejoice and to do good in [my] lifetime; moreover that every man who eats and drinks sees good in all his labor-- it is the gift of God."

Ecclesiastes 3:12-13

The Dr. can see you now!

When did you first take your kids to the dentist? (I really want to know if I'm the only mom who is procrastinating in this area.)

I noticed a bump on my son's gum about two weeks ago and so I thought I would ask the Dentist who I happened to be sitting next to in our Fellowship Group, about it. Dr. Sperbeck was kind enough to see him in the 10th pew after church!

He let me know that the bump is an abscess due to the current tooth being damaged and that we should pull the loose tooth out.
Great! If there is one thing I realized while being an EMT is that I do not do well with bones. Broken, loose, cracked, dislocated, whatever! I was hoping to take a hands off approach to this season of loosing teeth!
After checking my other son, who has a discolored tooth, I found out his is loose too!

I should have asked Dr. Sperbeck if I can just order dentures for all my kids and not have to deal with this!

Yes, I will be making dental appointments this week for the whole family!!

I took my oldest to the pediatric dentist just after turning four. She was scared but cooperated as long as I layed under her in the chair. My youngest was 2 when she went because I noticed some colored spots on her front two teeth - yes cavities, no not fun to deal with. My suggestions are: talk about what will be happening at the appt. with your children and if possible enlist the help of your hubby for moral support as well as brute strength. I'll pray for you.

Oh, one other tip that worked well with my 3 year old on her last appt. - she felt really threatened having to lay all the way back, so her dentist let her sit up a little more for her own security.

OHHHH! we had the same thing with our oldest. His first tooth was pulled.

Teeth - they sre buggers coming in and going out until the day we die. I remember hearing an older missionary say, "If I knew I was going to live this long I would of taken better care of my teeth." I think of that older man almost once a month for sure.

My younest who is three almost 4 has not had a visit yet, and I hope to get it in this year.

Our prayers are with you!

I didn't take Carson until he was 5. The twins are going in this April. I'm pretty sure that 2 of teh 3 will be wearing braces. So, I ask...what's the point?
